「若言自在至應非自在」者，牒轉計破。若言自在待餘因緣人功等事助發功能方成因者，但是朋敬自在天言，離餘因緣不見自在有別用故。或待因緣，應非大自在。

Regarding "If you say that Īśvara... he would not be autonomous": this cites the shifted position to refute it. If you say that Īśvara depends on other causes and conditions, such as human effort, to stimulate his capacity and only then becomes a cause, this is merely partisan reverence for the Lord Īśvara; apart from other causes and conditions, Īśvara is not seen to have any distinct function. Or, if he depends on causes and conditions, he would not be the Great Autonomous [Lord].
