「除阿羅漢至無間緣性」者，此下釋第三、第四句。此即出體。三乘無學總名阿羅漢。謂除阿羅漢臨入無餘涅槃時，最後一剎那心、心所法，諸餘過、現已生心、心所法，是等無間緣性。已生，簡未來及無為。心、心所，簡色、不相應。

"Except for the arhat up to: 'is the nature of the immediately contiguous condition'" explains below the third and fourth lines. This identifies its entity. The unlearners of the three vehicles are collectively named arhats. That is to say, except for the very last single moment of mind and mental factors when an arhat is on the verge of entering nirvāṇa without remainder, all other past and present already-arisen minds and mental factors are the nature of the immediately contiguous condition. "Already-arisen" excludes the future and the unconditioned. "Minds and mental factors" excludes matter and the non-associated [formations].
