「由是業力至即如今識」者，由是現在業力，從此捨命正結當有一剎那頃所有五蘊，此位名生。當有生支，即如今識各一剎那。未來生勝，故以標名。現在識強，當體受稱。

"Due to the power of this karma... is just like present consciousness": due to the power of this present karma, renouncing life from here and directly linking to future existence, all the five aggregates during that one moment: this stage is called 'birth'. The link of birth in future existence is just like present consciousness, each being a single moment. Future birth is predominant, so it is designated by this name. Present consciousness is powerful, receiving its appellation from its actual entity.
