9.6

「若爾於一至焚燒母腹」者，難。中有若如本有形者，於一狗等腹中容有五子，俱時命終各生一趣，五趣中有一時頓起。既有地獄中有現前，應如本有同受於苦，如何不能焚燒母腹？

Regarding the passage: "If so, then within a single... burn the mother's womb?": Objection: If the intermediate state resembles the form of the basic existence, within the belly of a single dog or similar animal there can be five fetuses that die at the same time and are each born into a different destiny, so that intermediate states of the five destinies arise all at once. Since an intermediate state of hell is present, it should experience suffering just like the basic existence; how could it fail to incinerate the mother's womb?
