論「此釋不然至影必隨滅」，論主述《婆沙》破也。《正理》不許此破，云「有不定過。如父、工匠種等滅時，子、堂、芽等不隨滅故。」《正理》破此釋云「此不應理，隨心轉色不從表生，應非色故。」

[The text of the] Treatise states: "This explanation is not correct [...] the shadow must perish along with it," in which the treatise author recounts the *Vibhāṣā*'s refutation. The *Nyāyānusāra* does not accept this refutation, stating: "There is the fault of inconclusiveness (anaikāntika). For instance, when a father, an artisan, a seed, or the like perishes, the child, the hall, the sprout, and so on do not perish along with them." The *Nyāyānusāra* refutes this explanation, saying: "This is unreasonable, for matter that conforms to mind does not arise from manifest [action], so it would follow that it is not matter."
