論「非唯依意至故亦非行」，答也。准此答文，以依意故名近，分別故名行也。

[On the Śāstra's statement:] 'They do not solely rely on the mind [up to] therefore they are not investigations either', this is the answer. Based on the phrasing of this answer, because they rely on the mind they are called 'proximate' (upavi-), and because of conceptual differentiation they are called 'investigations' (-cāra).
