The Śāstra says: "How do light, shade, heat, and cold become food?" A question. If the three—odor, taste, and tangibles—bound to the desire realm are all solid food, and it is further stated that they are received piece by piece by the mouth and nose, since light, shade, heat, and cold lack the meaning of being received piece by piece by the mouth and nose, how can they become food without qualification in the statement?
