論「如契經說至起謂中有」，此引經說中有名起。「有壞自體起」者，謂死有壞本有自體，中有起也。「有壞世間生」者，謂無情法因滅果生。

On the treatise's statement, "As a sūtra says ... arising refers to intermediate existence": this cites a sūtra stating that intermediate existence is called "arising" (utpāda). "Arising when one's own identity is destroyed" means that when death-existence destroys the identity of fundamental existence, intermediate existence arises. "Arising when the world is destroyed" means that among inanimate phenomena, the effect arises when the cause ceases.
