12.126

論「有如是類至從茲出現」，自此已下漸食段食，無有光明，日、月、火明此時出現。自此已前食地味也。

On the Śāstra's words, "There were beings of this kind ... appeared from this point onward": From this point onward, they gradually ate solid food and had no radiance; the light of the sun, moon, and fire appeared at this time. Prior to this, they consumed the earth-taste (pṛthivīrasa).
