論「若謂衣要待多所依合」，牒轉救也。勝論救云：一縷合時未有衣，要待多縷以為所依故。如子、孫微獨一無如用百千常微生一大色，於其前位此色不生。

The treatise says: "If you say that cloth must depend on the combination of many substrates." He takes up their further rescue: The Vaiśeṣikas rescue [their thesis] saying that when a single thread is combined there is not yet cloth, because it must depend on many threads as its substrate. Just as binary and tertiary atoms are individually ineffective, but hundreds of thousands of permanent atoms produce one large material form, whereas at the prior stage this material form is not produced.
