The treatise says: "Furthermore, [in the case where] it is not done by oneself... bodily and vocal paths of action." This refutes the fourth proof. When an agent, based on original preparation, accomplishes what was ordered according to the order of the one who gave the order, by the nature of things there occurs a transformation of seeds on the mental continuum of the one who ordered, culminating in a distinctive capacity at the time of generating the fruition. Because of this, it is able to produce multiple fruitions in the future; and since this distinctive quality is born from bodily and vocal karma, the fruition is given the name of the cause, and hence is called a bodily or vocal path of action—yet in reality it is neither bodily nor vocal. One should know that what is completed by oneself is also like this. Just as unmanifest karma is called a path of action, which also means the fruition takes the name of its cause, yet it is not [itself] bodily or vocal karma.
