13.36

論「又若待因至無無因者」，釋頌第五句「應無無因故」。若薪等滅待因，焰等亦應待因，如生待因，無無因者。

Treatise: "Moreover, if it depended on a cause […] there would be none without a cause." This explains the fifth quarter of the verse, "Because there would be none without a cause." If the cessation of firewood and the like depended on a cause, the cessation of flames and the like should also depend on a cause, just as arising depends on a cause and there is nothing without a cause.
