論「由事火合至於中所作」，論主答也。事火，是鐺釜下顯、形火聚。火界，即是水中熱觸。水聚，即是顯、形水聚。事火生水中熱觸，因熱觸令彼後念水聚生漸微因，非是與已生水為滅因也。

On the Śāstra's: "Due to the conjunction with the entity of fire ... what it accomplishes in that regard": The author of the Śāstra answers. The "entity of fire" is the aggregate of fire with visible color and shape beneath the cauldron. The "fire element" is the hot touch within the water. The "aggregate of water" is the aggregate of water with visible color and shape. The entity of fire produces the hot touch in the water; by virtue of the hot touch, it causes a cause of gradual diminution to arise in the subsequent moments of that aggregate of water, rather than being the cause of cessation for the water that has already arisen.
