16.17

論「離四靜慮至純白業盡」，釋斷白白業也。此唯所緣斷故，唯於自地第九品斷。斷雖通相應、俱有，此中辨業故，故說思也。

The Śāstra says: "Freeing oneself from the four dhyānas […] purely bright karma is exhausted"—this explains the abandonment of bright-bright karma. Because this is abandoned only through object of cognition, it is abandoned only at the ninth grade of its own stage. Although abandonment applies to what is associated and co-existent, because karma is being analyzed here, intention is spoken of.
