On the Śāstra's statement: "Some say that sensual craving... constitutes the path of karma of covetousness": This master takes the coarse grade as the path of karma, without discriminating between coveting wealth and coveting other things. The Nyāyānusāra states: "Although this worldly greed is all called covetousness, not all of it is a path of karma, because it has already been stated before that among evil actions, gathering the coarse grades constitutes a path of karma. Only giving rise to evil desire and greed for another's property is called the path of karma of covetousness. If it were otherwise, coveting one's own property should also constitute a path of karma. The objections regarding the wheel-turning king and Uttarakuru are also like this." According to the text of the Nyāyānusāra, the first and third explanations are correct.
