16.3

論「又經中說至其相云何」，自此已下有四頌半，第八明經中黑黑等四業。文中有三：一明業體、二明斷異、三述異說。此一頌半明四業體，先問、後答。此即問也。

The Śāstra says: "Moreover, it is said in the sūtras […] what are their characteristics?" From this point downward, in four and a half verses, the eighth [section] explains the four karmas mentioned in the sūtras: dark-dark, and so forth. In the text there are three parts: first, explaining the substance of the karmas; second, explaining the differences in abandonment; third, setting forth alternative views. These one and a half verses explain the substances of the four karmas, first asking and then answering. This is the question.
