17.108

論「此中所說至假說等流」，釋疑妨也。五果之中，若親異熟，疎即增上。此中別說等流果者，據果與因相似說也。

[On] the treatise's: "What is explained here... is metaphorically called an outflowing [fruit]": this resolves a difficulty. Among the five fruits, what is direct is ripening (vipāka), and what is indirect is the predominant [fruit] (adhipati-phala). That an outflowing fruit (niṣyanda-phala) is distinguished here is stated on the basis of the fruit resembling the cause.
