17.11

論「然亦可言至皆名業道」，論主為彼師釋。此貪、瞋等是惡趣因，因是道義，與惡趣為道。或貪、瞋等互相因起，更互相乘，皆名業道也。

On the Śāstra's stating: "Yet one could also say [...] are all called karmapathas", the author of the Śāstra explains on behalf of that master. These factors of covetousness, ill will, and the like are the causes of bad destinies; cause has the meaning of a path, acting as the path to bad destinies. Alternatively, covetousness, ill will, and the like arise as mutual causes and ride upon one another, so they are all called karmapathas.
