17.131

論「謂過去業至非後業果故」，離繫果非三世故，非此中明。未來及除等流，無前、後故，所以三果。相應、俱有、能作、異熟因等，通三世故，所以有三。異熟果必前、後故，現在與現在除異熟。

[On] the treatise's: "Namely, past karma... because it is not the fruit of a subsequent karma": because the fruit of disjunction is not of the three periods of time, it is not clarified here. The future excludes outflowing, because there is no prior and posterior, so it has three fruits. Because associated, coexistent, acting, and ripening causes and so forth pervade the three periods of time, there are three. Because a ripening fruit must have a prior and posterior, present with respect to present excludes ripening.
