18.96

論「何法名施施招何果」，此下第二廣明施等。就中有三：一明布施、二明戒修、三明法施。就第一明布施中有九：一明施及果、二明施益差別、三明施果別因、四明施福最勝、五明施果無量、六明業輕重相、七明造作增長、八明施制多福、九明果由內心。此一行頌第一明施果也。

The treatise says: "What dharma is called giving, and what fruit does giving bring about?" From here on, the second [part] explains giving and so forth in detail. In this there are three parts: first, explaining giving; second, explaining morality and cultivation; third, explaining the gift of Dharma. In the first part, explaining giving, there are nine: first, explaining giving and its fruit; second, explaining the distinctions in the benefit of giving; third, explaining the distinct causes of the fruit of giving; fourth, explaining the supreme merit of giving; fifth, explaining the immeasurable fruits of giving; sixth, explaining the characteristics of light and heavy karma; seventh, explaining performing and accumulating; eighth, explaining the merit of giving to a caitya; ninth, explaining that fruits arise from the inner mind. This one verse is the first, explaining the fruit of giving.
