19.15

論「八導識流」，《正理論》云「於後有所緣，能引發識故。」述曰：能引後有結生識也，及引染識數緣境也。

Regarding the treatise's "Eighth, guiding the stream of consciousness", the *Nyāyānusāra* says: "Because it can direct and give rise to consciousness toward the cognitive object of subsequent existence." The commentary states: It can direct the rebirth-linking consciousness (pratisandhi-vijñāna) of subsequent existence, and direct defiled consciousness repeatedly to take cognitive objects.
