論「又作是說至如識因果」，難第三記，但應一向記言亦勝亦劣。如問識為果為因，應一向記亦果亦因。

Regarding the treatise passage: "Again, some make this statement ... like consciousness being cause and effect": this challenges the third answer, [claiming] one should merely answer definitively, saying it is both superior and inferior. Just as when asked whether consciousness is an effect or a cause, one should answer definitively that it is both effect and cause.
