Regarding the text of the treatise: "The rest means the other four... have outflowing nature": this explains the four elements of visible form, odor, taste, and tactile objects. Form belonging to sentient beings has ripening-born and nourished [varieties], while that conjoined with karma of the three moral natures has only outflowing nature. Odor, taste, and tactile objects belonging to sentient beings have ripening and nourished [varieties], while those conjoined with neutral karma are of outflowing nature. All external five sense objects are exclusively outflowing.
