論「若眼耳根至如鼻根等」，反難釋也。若眼、耳不能遠見聞故，不應修生天眼、耳根。

On the Śāstra's statement: "If the eye and ear faculties [...] like the nose faculty and the rest": this is an explanation by counter-objection. If the eye and ear could not see and hear at a distance, one should not cultivate the arising of the divine eye and divine ear faculties.
