20.101

論「又彼所言至理亦不然」，經部條第二理非也。如有部計，業現在取果，落謝過去世與果。若業過去是無，誰能與果？

The Śāstra says: "Furthermore, as for what they say... is logically unsound as well": the Sautrāntikas systematically point out that the second rational argument is incorrect. According to the Sarvāstivādin position, karma grasps its fruit in the present and gives its fruit upon lapsing into the past. If karma is non-existent in the past, what could give the fruit?
