20.27

論「尊者妙音至離過未相」，此述第二計也。妙音意說：諸有為法有三種相，謂過去、現在、未來。正與一合，二不名離。從合得名，不從不離。

On the Śāstra's statement: "Venerable Ghoṣaka […] separate from past and future characteristics": this presents the second position. Ghoṣaka's intention is to say: conditioned dharmas have three kinds of characteristics, namely past, present, and future. When correctly conjoined with one, they are not called separated from the other two. They receive their name from conjunction, not from non-separation.
