20.59

論「依如是義至此真自在作」，引頌破也。文中有三：一生滅理無破。雖與相合，體常有故，生滅理無。二性、體無別破。體、性無別，體常性無常，所未曾有故。第三頌結也，如文可知。

The Śāstra says: "Based on this principle... this is truly the work of Īśvara": this cites a verse to refute it. Within the text there are three points: First, refuting by the impossibility of arising and ceasing. Although united with the characteristics, because the substance always exists, the principle of arising and ceasing is impossible. Second, refuting by the non-difference between nature and substance. Substance and nature are not distinct; that the substance is eternal while its nature is impermanent has never occurred. Third is the concluding verse, which can be understood from the text.
