論「有餘師說至得更遠故」，述異說也。准此，諸道更無異釋。有人云：持對治隱顯合論，即通四道，以皆能持彼斷得故。遠分對治，若隱顯合論，亦通四道，以皆能令彼所斷惑得更遠故。此是抑度作義，無所憑據。

In the treatise, "Other masters say […] because its acquisition becomes further distant" presents a variant explanation. According to this, the various paths have no further alternative explanation. Someone said: "If the antidote of retention is treated by combining the implicit and explicit, it pervades all four paths, because they can all retain that acquisition of abandonment. If the antidote of distance (dūrībhāvapratipakṣa) is treated by combining the implicit and explicit, it also pervades all four paths, because they can all cause the acquisition of those abandoned defilements to become further distant." This is a forced, conjectural interpretation, lacking any authoritative basis.
