論「界趣生等至應知亦爾」，答。界、趣等異、品類不同、由業差別出現名生。愛但令起，非差別因。論舉喻顯，如文可知。

On the Śāstra's 'The realms, destinies, modes of birth, and so forth [...] should be understood likewise': Reply. The differences of realms, destinies, and so on, and the distinctions of categories, appearing due to the differentiation of karman, are called 'birth'. Craving merely causes them to arise; it is not the cause of differentiation. The treatise illustrates this with a simile, which can be understood from the text.
