The Śāstra states: "At the time of seeing the truth of suffering... up to: namely abandoning, realizing, and cultivating." This clarifies how many [direct realizations] are present. When seeing the truth of suffering, the forbearance and cognition regarding suffering are called direct realization of vision and of the cognitive object. Because one sees and takes as cognitive object the truth of suffering, it is also called direct realization of action. Because one knows the truth of suffering, knowing suffering, abandoning the origin, realizing cessation, and cultivating the path are called direct realization of action. At the time of seeing suffering, since one knows it is suffering, this is direct realization of action. Regarding the truth of the origin there is the action of abandoning; regarding the truth of cessation there is the action of realizing; regarding the truth of the path there is the action of cultivating. Therefore it is said that regarding the three truths there is direct realization of action.
