論「已說見修二道生異」，已下第二依位建立。於中有二：一就見道立、二就修道立。此一行半頌就見道立，於中建立隨信、隨法前三果、向，總立五人。大乘，此五人從四善根立。

On the passage of the treatise, "The differences in arising between the two paths of seeing and meditation have already been explained": From this point downward is the second section, establishing [the persons] according to stage. Within this there are two parts: first, establishing them with respect to the path of seeing; second, establishing them with respect to the path of meditation. This verse-and-a-half establishes them with respect to the path of seeing, wherein it establishes the followers by faith and followers by Dharma, the first three fruits and their approaches, setting up five persons in total. In the Mahāyāna, these five persons are established on the basis of the four roots of goodness.
