論「此預流名至應名預流」，進退徵也。若預流名目初得道，即初見道，第八人地應名預流。若初得果名為預流，即超越第二、三果應名預流。

On the passage of the treatise from "Does this name 'stream-enterer'" to "should be called a stream-enterer": An inquiry examining both alternatives. If the name 'stream-enterer' designates the initial attainment of the path, then the initial path of seeing, the stage of the eighth person, should be called a stream-enterer. If initial attainment of the fruit is called a stream-enterer, then those who leap over to the second or third fruit should be called stream-enterers.
