The passage of the treatise starting with "The first two moments... by the path of deliverance" clarifies the difference between the uninterrupted path (ānantaryamārga) and the path of deliverance (vimuktimārga). Namely, the three moments of mind: two uncontaminated (anāsrava) and one contaminated (sāsrava). First entering the contaminated from the uncontaminated: these two moments, like the uninterrupted path, directly sever obstacles. The third moment entering the uncontaminated from the contaminated, because obstacles are already severed, is like the path of deliverance. Because entering the contaminated from the uncontaminated is easy, and entering the uncontaminated from the contaminated is difficult, two uninterrupted paths and one path of deliverance are established.
