25.31

論「由此應果至一一增故」，明先是退姓至應果增進根者退法有三，思四，護五，住六，堪達七也。

On the Śāstra's statement: "Therefore, for the fruit of arhatship ... because they increase one by one": This explains that for one who was originally of the lineage liable to fall away and advanced one's faculties upon reaching the fruit of arhatship, the liable to fall away has three, reflection has four, preservation has five, abiding has six, and able to penetrate has seven.
