26.168

論「雖集滅邊至種性多故」，釋違妨也。謂一有情於見道位知一切苦，未斷一切集、未證一切滅，而於無學必斷、證故。道即不爾，非唯見道不修一切道，至無學位亦不能修，以三乘六種姓其道各別，不平修故。

On the Śāstra's 'Although on the verge of arising and cessation... because lineages are manifold': this resolves a contradiction. That is to say: a single sentient being, at the stage of the path of seeing, knows all suffering, but has not yet abandoned all arising nor realized all cessation; yet, in the stage of the non-learner, he will definitely abandon and realize them. The path is not like this: not only does one not cultivate all paths in the path of seeing, but even upon reaching the stage of the non-learner one still cannot cultivate them, because the paths of the three vehicles and the six spiritual lineages are distinct and not cultivated equally.
