26.31

論「有說知初二及第十五心」，述異師說獨覺心知。《正理論》云「有說麟喻知四剎那，謂初二心、第八、十四。此言應理。所以者何？許從知初二念心已，唯隔五念知第八心。若復更修法分加行，經五念頃加行應成，何不許知第十四念？有餘亦說：知四剎那，謂初二念心、第十一、二（已上論文）。」

Regarding the verse-text, 'Some say that they know the first two and the fifteenth mind': this relates another master's explanation of what a solitary buddha's mind knows. The Nyāyānusāra says: 'Some say the rhinoceros-like knows four moments, namely the first two minds, the eighth, and the fourteenth. This statement is reasonable. Why? Having accepted that after knowing the minds of the first two moments, it knows the eighth mind separated by only five moments; if it further cultivates the preparatory application of the dharma category, the preparatory application should be accomplished after five moments, so why not accept that it knows the fourteenth moment? Others also say: It knows four moments, namely the first two moments of mind, the eleventh, and the twelfth' (thus ends the treatise text).
