26.88

論「豈不我說至我說體一」，有部通經。說懈怠增者，經說沈心。掉舉增者，經說掉心。沈、掉舉常相應故，我說體一。

On the Śāstra's statement: "Did I not state […] I say their substance is one": the Sarvāstivādins reconcile the sūtra. In that in which laziness predominates, the sūtra speaks of a depressed mind; in that in which agitation predominates, the sūtra speaks of an agitated mind. Because depression and agitation are always associated, I say their substance is one.
