28.121

論「又契經說至非即輕安」，後引經破也。經說離生喜、身作證，是初定，說修五法：一歡、二喜、三輕安、四樂。既輕安與樂別說，故初、二樂非即輕安。言離生喜者，離欲惡法生彼喜故。

On the treatise passage: "Furthermore, the sūtra says [...] is not itself pliancy": later it refutes by citing sūtra. The sūtra says "joy born of separation, realized with the body," which refers to the first absorption; it speaks of cultivating five dharmas: first, gladness; second, joy; third, pliancy; fourth, pleasure. Since pliancy and pleasure are stated separately, the pleasure in the first and second [dhyānas] is not itself pliancy. As for "joy born of separation," it is because that joy is generated by separating from the bad phenomena of desire.
