「論曰至越一名超」,述根本地有兩類定,謂淨及無漏,及諸地出入不同,立名有異:一往上名順、二還下名逆、三同類名均、四異類名間、五相隣名次、六越一名超。若先識六例,述超方易,故先例也。
[On] the śāstra's: "The text says ... leaping over one is called leaping (vyutkrānti)": This explains that the fundamental stages comprise two kinds of concentrations, namely pure and anāsrava, and that entering and emerging from the various stages differ, so different designations are established: (1) going upwards is called direct (anuloma); (2) returning downwards is called reverse (pratiloma); (3) being of the same type is called uniform (tulya); (4) being of different types is called alternating (vyavahita); (5) being adjacent is called contiguous (anantara); (6) leaping over one is called leaping (vyutkrānti). If one first recognizes these six models, explaining the leaping method is easy, hence the models are presented first.
