「論曰至理實通餘」，述第一修也。先引經說現法樂住，後釋經也。善言通攝淨及無漏定。「修諸善靜慮」者，謂四無漏及四淨。舉初顯後，故經但說初靜慮也。

From "The Śāstra says:" up to "in principle it actually applies to the remainder" explains the first cultivation. It first cites the sūtra explaining dwelling happily in the present life (dṛṣṭadharmasukhavihāra), and later interprets the sūtra. The word 'wholesome' generally encompasses both pure (śuddha) and anāsrava absorptions. "Cultivating all wholesome dhyānas" refers to the four anāsrava and four pure [dhyānas]. Bringing up the first reveals the later ones; therefore the sūtra speaks only of the first dhyāna.
