心一境性名之為定，此品廣明，名〈分別定品〉。前明智品能依定果，此明定品智所依因。
One-pointedness of mind is called meditative absorption (samādhi). This chapter extensively clarifies it, and is named "Chapter on the Analysis of Meditative Absorption". The previous chapter clarified the knowledge chapter as the fruit relying on absorption; this chapter clarifies the absorption chapter as the cause upon which knowledge relies.
