論「若謂欲色至此有何理」，又破救也。大眾部救云：雖色界中，上地清妙，下地應名無色。然隨別義立名，不名無色。無色不爾者，此有何理？

The Śāstra says: "If you say that desire and form [...] what principle is there in this?" This also refutes their rescue argument. The Mahāsāṃghika attempts to rescue their position, saying: Although in the form realm the higher levels are subtle and refined, in comparison to the lower levels they should be called formless; yet based on a specific meaning the name is established, and they are not called formless. But that the formless [realm] is not like this—what principle is there in this?
