29.188

論「既爾至經決判故」，又引經破也。既一切法非是我故，與我不一不異故名非我者，我應非是意識所識。經說意、法二緣生識，不說我故。

The treatise says: "If so... because the sūtra definitively determines it." This again cites scripture to refute them: since all phenomena are not the self, and being neither identical with nor different from the self they are called not-self, the self should not be cognized by the mental consciousness. For the sūtra states that consciousness arises from the two conditions of mind and phenomena, and does not mention the self.
