29.84

論「生在色界至加由教力」，述在色界起上靜慮，由因力、業力及法爾力。若生欲界起上無色，由因力、業力、教力。起色界定，由業力、因力、法爾力、教力。故言一一應知加由教力。

The treatise says, "Born in the form realm ... with the addition of the power of instruction," which explains that when in the form realm one generates higher dhyānas, it is through the power of cause, the power of karma, and the power of nature. If born in the desire realm, one generates higher formless [absorptions] through the power of cause, the power of karma, and the power of instruction. One generates form realm absorptions through the power of karma, the power of cause, the power of nature, and the power of instruction. Therefore it says, "in each case it should be understood that the power of instruction is added."
