論「且女男根至乳房等別」，此釋女、男二根增上。《正理論》云「且女、男根二增上者，一有情異、二分別異。有情異者，劫初有情形類皆等，二根生已便有男、女形類差別。分別異者，進止、言音、乳房、髻等安布差別。有說勇、怯有差別故名有情異。衣服、莊嚴有差別故名分別異。」

On the Śāstra's: "First, the female and male faculties […] distinctions such as breasts": this explains the two kinds of predominance of the female and male faculties. The Nyāyānusāra says: "Regarding the two kinds of predominance of the female and male faculties: the first is the difference of sentient beings (sattva-bheda); the second is the difference of distinctions (vikalpa-bheda). 'Difference of sentient beings' means: at the beginning of the kalpa, the forms and types of sentient beings were all equal; once the two faculties arose, there were distinctions in the forms and types of male and female. 'Difference of distinctions' refers to the structured distinctions in deportment, vocal pitch, breasts, topknots, and so forth. Some say: Because there are distinctions between bravery and timidity, it is called difference of sentient beings; because there are distinctions in clothing and adornments, it is called difference of distinctions."
