論「當言成就至餘未得故」，答。餘淨無漏樂猶未得故，若成樂根喜即不定。謂異生生第三定，成就樂根、不成喜故，若成喜根即定成樂。聖人生上成無漏，必成無漏樂；異生生第二定，必成染污樂故。

On the Śāstra's statement: 'It should be said that one possesses up to because the others have not yet been attained,' this is the reply. Because the other pure and anāsrava pleasure has not yet been attained, if one possesses the pleasure faculty, joy is not definite. That is to say, when an ordinary person is born in the third dhyāna, they possess the pleasure faculty but do not possess joy; whereas if one possesses the joy faculty, one definitely possesses pleasure. When an ārya is born above, possessing the anāsrava [faculties], they necessarily possess anāsrava pleasure; when an ordinary person is born in the second dhyāna, they necessarily possess defiled pleasure.
