「論曰至各立為根」，釋頌文也。謂眼等根與眼等識為依故，於眼等識有增上用，故立為根。

On: "The commentary says: […] each is established as a faculty": this explains the text of the verse. That is, because the faculties such as the eye serve as the basis for consciousnesses such as eye-consciousness, they have predominant efficacy with respect to the consciousnesses such as eye-consciousness; therefore, they are established as faculties.
