3.27

論「女男根體至別立為二」，此文釋女男根所以。謂即以身一分為體，此二少異餘處身根。謂能於女、男有增上用，故身根外別立二根。

On the Śāstra's: "The substance of the female and male faculties […] are separately established as two": this text explains the reason for the female and male faculties. That is, taking a portion of the body as their substance, these two differ slightly from the body faculty in other locations. Because they are capable of exercising predominance over female and male, they are established as two separate faculties apart from the body faculty.
