論「若我實無至我體是何」，外道反難也。由為我當受苦、樂果故造善、惡業。我體若無，為誰造業？若為我造業者，我體是何？

On the Śāstra's statement: "If the self is truly non-existent [...] what is the essence of the self?": The non-Buddhist counter-objects. It is for the sake of the self, which will experience the fruits of suffering and pleasure, that one performs good and evil karma. If the essence of the self is non-existent, for whose sake does one perform karma? If one performs karma for the sake of the self, what is the essence of the self?
