論「二根者謂至大善地法」，《正理論》云「已得、未得境界，耽著希求相違，無愛染心名為無貪；於情非情無恚害意，哀愍種子說名無嗔。」

The Treatise states: "The two roots mean [...] great wholesome ground-dharmas." The Nyāyānusāra states: "Being contrary to attachment and craving toward obtained and unobtained sensory realms, a mind without affectionate defilement is named non-greed (alobha); an intention free of malice and harm toward sentient and non-sentient beings, being the seed of compassion, is called non-hatred (adveṣa)."
